Katie Ovens

I am an Assistant Professor in Fundamental Data Science at the University of Calgary in the Computer Science Department. My research is mainly focused on data science for the large-scale analysis of imaging data in the biological and medical domains for the creation of new insights into how to combat disease and illness. This includes developing machine learning strategies for combining "omics" data with medical imaging features and utilizing computer vision techniques to more easily and effectively gain insight from biological and medical images.
